Is it true that almost everyone has herpes?

Herpes is as common as you might imagine, is this a myth or a reality?

So, what is herpes after all? Does everyone have herpes?

Herpes is caused by the simplex virus type 1 and 2, which are responsible for cold sores and genital herpes.

The infection can be asymptomatic, have a single manifestation throughout life, or present in the form of outbreaks, which can be triggered by factors such as stress, unprotected sun exposure, and weakened immunity, and is also common in women near their menstrual period.

According to various studies, herpes is indeed very common among the population, with around 80% of people carrying the herpes simplex virus. You might not believe that most people are carriers, but what happens is that only a few of these 80% experience symptoms and have outbreaks. Some of the major factors that trigger outbreaks include poor nutrition, physical and mental stress, unprotected sun exposure, and weakened immunity.

So, if you are a carrier, remember that you are not alone, and you are also part of the majority of the population. Herpes is not a monster, and you are not different from other people; you just need to take care of yourself to avoid outbreaks.
